My students are thoughtful, curious, creative and full of wonder! We are a third and fourth-grade core classroom in Williston, Vermont. We strive to be good citizens both in our classroom and beyond. We have four classrooms and one shared Kiva space. We do our best to dig deep with our learning and get as "hands-on" as possible. Things can get a bit messy!
Our classroom comes alive during the day and can look a bit chaotic after our learning adventures.
This year students have permanent jobs in our core classroom. The jobs help our class stay clean and organized. However, we have no job that helps us with our floors. We are hoping to add vacuuming to our cleaning routine so that students can help clean floors too!
My Project
Our class is hoping to have a Dyson vacuum to keep our learning space clean. Having a vacuum would enable us to continue with our messy projects and fun assignments. We often sit on the floor for read aloud, snack, collaborative work and projects. It is much more enjoyable when we can clean our space.
The reason we are hoping for a Dyson brand vacuum is that the company has many connections to our science units and we will incorporate the design challenges into our units of study.
Dyson has science challenges and engineering challenges available that incorporate Dyson technology and our current NGSS (Science Standards). Dyson hopes to put design process in the hands of students.
