This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are an innovation school. This means that our school has been given a chance to provide even more meaningful opportunities to the students in our boundaries. Students at my school receive free and reduced lunch. I am the school Social Worker.
I provide a variety of services to the students and families of our building.
I teach students about good hygiene practices. I talk with them about how to control and verbalize their emotions. I also work with students that struggle with social skills. Our school is also a Project Restore School. Each week students take academic tests that assess different skills. All assessments are cumulative and rigorous, which means skills can not be forgotten and are always practiced.
My Project
Having good hygiene is an important part in staying healthy. Keeping your body clean helps prevent illness and infections from you and others around you. A school is the perfect place in which germs can spread fast. Students need the proper hygiene items to make sure their bodies are clean and healthy.
Teaching students about hygiene is essential.
No student should be made fun of for not being taught how to care for their bodies. Being taught good hygiene promotes better self esteem and helps them maintain a better well-being.
Giving students shampoo, body wash, deodorant, and body wipes will help teach them the proper way to care for themselves when they are at home.
