My Students

Most of my students come from low-income or below poverty level families. They are working hard to overcome and change their future. These kids give me their "all" during PE every day.

I work with the most amazing kids you will every meet!

They are energetic and are very engaged during PE. We work on making healthy choices and lifestyle changes through exercise and play. We spend a lot of time being active. They love being outdoors, so we go out as often as weather allows.

My Project

We spent all the time we possibly could, outside, during last spring, summer, and fall. We currently have no shade structure and no water fountains on either playground. The temperatures range from 85-102 degrees in our area. I am looking for ways to keep my students active, yet cool, during the heat of summer.

This canopy would give students a place to retreat from the heat of the sun and cool down while enjoying outside activities.

Not only do we use the playground for PE, but classroom teachers use it daily for recess. This project would benefit the entire school.
