Keeping Kids and Tech Energized: Chromebooks and Charging Stations
My students need a charging station with timers for their Chrome Books as well as two more Chromebooks to aid in instruction, engagement and differentiating instruction.
My students came to me at the beginning of the year incredibly excited and ready to learn. They come from financially diverse backgrounds, some families are below the national poverty line.
My students are athletic, funny, fearless, innocent, and joyful human beings that deserve the BEST possible education.
I am doing all in my power to give that opportunity. However, sometimes it is not enough. Because of our district's limited access to technology these students are missing out on many valuable learning opportunities.
My Project
This project is designed to: 1) Provide a charging station with timers and power strip for the Chrome Books my students already have access to. 2) Gain two more Chrome Books so that we can have more access to online programs that are geared towards providing students with a more engaging educational experience. I frequently utilize programs such as Google Classroom and Nearpod to help students take control of their own learning and stay engaged.
Having some students work on devices allows me to more effectively utilize my time and energy working with small groups.
Many students do not have access to, nor are able to effectively maneuver personal devices to their fullest capability. This project seeks to open up new possibilities to these students.
