This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are AAAAh-mazing! They are bright, excited, and motivated to learn everyday they step foot in our classroom. They enjoy learning new information and reviewing the older information. They are kind to each other. They push themselves to be the best they can be. I encourage them everyday to be the best they can be everyday! I tell them that they are my students and that I love them.
We are located in an area that has a high-needs, low-income population.
100% of the students attending my school qualify to receive free or reduced-price lunch. Many of them have experienced trauma in their lives and have difficulty coming to school.
My Project
My students come to school with an eagerness to learn. I want them to come to school not worrying if they will have enough of the basics here in our classroom.
Students in Kindergarten use the crayons continuously, year round.
They use them to create their pictures that match the writing we do on a daily basis. We use the dry erase markers on a daily basis from day one to help them practice their handwriting. The baby wipes help when my students get messy with activities. And finally, since the weather has been crazy my students come to school every day with some type of cold. We are always blowing noses in kindergarten so we need tissues.
These really are the basics in Kindergarten. I really want them to know that I have done my best to provide them with all that they need to succeed in school!
