My students are creative, brilliant, and determined to succeed. They are a group of 10- to 11-year-old students who strive to do their very best and attack education with limitless ambition.
I constantly share with them how much THEY, as learners, motivate me, their teacher, to push and challenge myself in whatever I set out to do.
Regardless of their backgrounds and the unique challenges they face, when they enter our school doors, they are over-comers, go-getters, and scholars ready to tackle the world! I am so proud and grateful to be their teacher!
Thank you for considering a partnership with my class! We greatly appreciate our donors and their generosity and support towards education!
My Project
Our classroom is in need of basic materials, we use on a daily basis! In a classroom of 40 fifth graders materials run out quicker than one would imagine! Such items include printer ink, binder clips, and quality tape.
Although these items may be ordinary; they are an essential part of our day, and add up quickly!
Printer ink is something that I have purchased in the past, but when printing for 40 students it goes quickly! One of my favorite math resources is a game called "Math Scoot"- for each standard there is a version of this game. This game allows students to review material while moving around the classroom after each problem. It is such an engaging way to review at the end of a unit! In addition to printing various assignments in color, I also like to print beautiful signs so that our classroom looks inviting! Next, the binder rings I have requested are used for various crafts and resources throughout the school year. An example would be leveled flip charts for students to use to demonstatre how well they know and understand the lesson content. This is helpful because they do not have to show everyone- it allows for a very discrete approach. Lastly, I have asked for quality tape. Hanging student work in the classroom and hallways can be a very time-consuming task... and it is discouraging when their work falls do to the poor quality tape used.
With that said, these basic classroom items are essential to the functionality of any school day! Thank you for considering to support our classroom!
