My students are a group of individuals in Kindergarten through 6th grade. They live in a multicultural inner city neighborhood with a low economic status.
The students are excited to begin a new school year with a new PBIS Program.
They are free-spiritited and cannot wait to earn incentives for their positive behavior. For many of the students, school is an outlet away from their everyday troubles that they deal with outside of the classroom. The students enjoy seeing that hard work and good behavior pay off.
My Project
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is important for student learning because it gives appropriate support and intervention for those who are struggling while also recognizing those students who are working hard and making positive strides in their behavior and academics. We are implementing PBIS in our school this year and would like to place our PBIS logo and slogan on T-shirts, bags, cups, posters and other items.
The students will follow the core values of safe, caring, and responsible to "earn stripes" to trade in for spirit wear.
We will also use the Cricut machine and heat press to create t-shirts for Student of the Month and other recognitions. We look forward to seeing our students filling the halls with gear showing they have been safe, caring and responsible.
