This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach an energetic bunch of kindergarten students. The students in my class are learning to read, write, count, and do other foundation skills.
In kindergarten, students work with many different materials and manipulatives and are working hard to learn organization skills.
This includes organizing pencil pouches, laptops, headphones, whites boards, and writing materials.
My Project
Organization is a key component of being a successful learner. Students have a limited amount of desk space which makes it difficult to keep things organized while providing a space for them to work. Being able to give students more space on their desks and keep their space organized, can help students focus on the task at hand.
By donating to my Neat Seat project you will be helping students to eliminate desk distractions and support student engagement.
Students thrive from routine and being able to keep items in one place will allow them to increase time on task.
