My 630 students are in grades K-5. I teach 28 different classes each week. My school is a diverse mix of students from the Charlotte, NC community. We have many different nationalities represented and with all levels of ability. The one thing they all have in common is the importance of quality education. In fact, their futures depend on it.
Despite being economically challenged, these kids are true go-getters and lovers of learning.
They embrace everything I am teaching them. They love school, everything from reading to math to art to anything technology-based. School is a safe haven for many of my students.
My Project
As the Librarian, I want to ensure that my students get some free time to create, build and play after our Media Lessons and book checkout. As a result, I am often looking for new and engaging things for my students to do.
I have selected cursive dry erase boards, games, tiny Rubric's Cubes and other supplies needed in the Media Center.
The cursive books are so the kids can learn cursive letters. The Skip Bo and Tic Tac Toe are fun games that I know the kids will enjoy. I have also requested gallon-sized bags to keep our materials in and Lysol Wipes to keep all surfaces clean and sanitized.
