My students are amazing, highly involved, and motivated kids that deserve the best education despite their rural location. If they are in my classes then they have chosen to challenge themselves with learning upper-level science content that will benefit them as they continue their education after high school. Many are considering careers in health sciences, engineering, and the hard sciences. They are involved and successful in as many school activities as possible, and therefore, have talents in many areas.
One of the things I absolutely love about my students is their love for learning and for science.
Many of my students are involved in our science club, and their motivation in class is very high because they are able to apply many of the concepts to science competitions the club attends. My classroom is very student-centered and I spend most of my time just facilitating the students to discover and learn together. A classroom with lots of hands-on learning is key to allowing my students to learn content at a deeper level.
My Project
My classroom is always busy with lots of science going on! My students are building, dissecting, experimenting, 3D printing, and in general...just learning! All these activities leave my classroom a mess that our custodial staff can't always keep up with. Therefore, we need some cleaning supplies of our own in order to keep our area clean, safe, and sanitized.
The Swiffer WetJet, wastebasket, broom and dustpan and other cleaning supplies will allow my students and I to better clean up our messes and keep the classroom safe for every student that comes in next.
We will be able to sweep up all the scraps on the floor, mop up spills, and wipe down our countertops after experimenting and dissecting. We will also be able to organize the disposal of our waste and more easily recycle!
