Our multi-age classroom is a community of learners and growers. We spend two years with our students, guiding them and watching them blossom. We emphasize working together and being a community. Each student helps another and learns in the best way, by teaching.
Our students are an amazing and diverse group of third and fourth graders.
They come from high poverty areas. School is often their comfort place and provides food as well as stability. The school is Title I funded. Our classroom is like a community, and we want the students to feel comfortable and safe to learn.
My Project
My students and I are very fortunate that we usually have enough supplies to help keep our classroom clean and healthy. However, I do believe it is never a bad idea to stock up on as much as possible because you never know when the next flu bug will strike. The classroom can never have enough Clorox wipes or Kleenex. The students love to keep the room neat and tidy. The sanitizer dispensers and cleaning clothes will help our with our daily cleaning. We hope to continue to have the supplies to keep things sparkling.
The students also have an opportunity to eat a nutritious snack every day.
Unfortunately we don't always have enough food for everyone. The fruit snacks, beef sticks and nutri grain bars would help supply our students with some snacks for the remainder of the year.
