Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school has grades from Pre Kindergarten to Fourth Grade. Approximately 600 students attend our school. The students who attend here come from diverse backgrounds and have varied interests. They come to school each day ready to learn, discover, and explore!
The students' nonstop energy, youthful enthusiasm, and pure willingness to learn new things inspires me every day.
The students at my school love to learn; they love to play! They are active learners who enjoy getting their hands dirty, making big messes, and discovering great things along the way!
My Project
My goal with this project is to provide an environment for the students and staff at my school that is clean, healthy, and well-maintained. It is not uncommon for teachers in my school to purchase their own cleaning products such as disinfectant sprays and hand soap for their classrooms. At times, we lack basic necessities such as facial tissue, which is so important to have on hand when cold/flu or allergy seasons come around.
A clean and healthy learning environment is crucial for the well-being of our students and staff alike.
Our maintenance crews are short-staffed and often lack the supplies needed to adequately clean and disinfect our school, leaving much of the burden on classroom teachers to maintain a healthy environment.
The products requested for this project will be shared with each grade level to be used in classrooms and utilized in common areas such as the office, teachers' workroom, STEM Lab, and restrooms.
