My students come from a low income/high-poverty part of the city where they need opportunities to succeed. Young children need to start their learning journey early.
I teach at a Title I school in Virginia where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
For some of my students, this is their first school experience, and I want to make it a great one. They really enjoy school and learning. As little learners, they also love to read, write, and grow.
I teach in a Reggio inspired school. One of the most important pieces of the Reggio inspired classroom is the classroom environment. The bottle lights are designed to hang in empty water bottles. This will allow us to have more calming light in half of the classroom and we will be able to shut off the harsh fluorescent lights. The batteries will ensure that our calming lights will always work. The lap desk is a nice, natural color that will help enhance our Reggio environment and aid us in flexible seating choices.
In a Reggio inspired classroom, the environment is just as important as the curriculum that is taught.
Please help me in providing a nice, calm classroom where my students can learn and grow.
