This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students in my class are sometimes sent with clothing items that do not fit properly. I have been asked numerous times for string to help tie someone's pants on. What I would've given to have a spare belt lying around. They are often cold during the winter months and can use a simple undershirt to help them stay warm.

When students feel comfortable in what they are wearing, they can focus on being ready to learn.

The other thing that I always want to make sure they have is food. When students bring lunch from home, they put them in a community bin. At times, they'll throw a loose snack or a tupperware with leftovers in there. It would be so much better for each child to have a lunch box of their own so that their snacks don't get taken, smashed, or leak on others' food.
