Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My goal is to make my classroom fun and engaging. I want my students to love coming to school and to be active learners!
I have 24 kindergarten and transitional kindergarten students.
They come to school each day with big smiles on their faces and are ready to learn. I teach in a low-income school with a high number of English language learners. My school is innovative and offers a wide variety of after-school clubs to give opportunities to students that many probably wouldn't have otherwise.
My Project
My students love learning through hands-on games and activities. The Lakeshore alphabet center, counting game, word building center, magnetic letters, construction center, and sight word building game that I am requesting will help my students enhance their learning. Students will be able to work on building words, sight words, and work on fine motor skills while working with peers to build healthy social emotional skills. We are also requesting Clorox wipes to keep our center area clean and to keep my students healthy and safe. The laminating sheets I am requesting will be used to laminate additional centers that will also be used to develop social-emotional skills.
Using these centers is a great way to promote social emotional well being as my students will collaborate with peers to complete challenges and build the various words and letters.
As they work through these challenges, they will gain a better understanding of each other. These centers will help my students understand how important it is to listen to each other, respect each other, and work as a team! The wipes will allow me to safely clean my tables, centers, and tablets and keep my room clear of dirt and germs. Thank you for helping to keep my students healthy!
