Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Tagalog, Urdu, Turkish, and Spanish are some of the many languages spoken by the children in my classroom. Our school is a Title I, inner-city school where 90% of the children receive free and reduced-priced lunch. My children are extremely eager to learn and are very appreciative of everything that is given to them. They love coming to school and are excited to begin each day.
My students face many challenges in their daily lives.
Having the necessary materials to learn should not be one of them. The only way I can ensure my children are successful in their educational journey is to provide these tools to them.
My Project
Having Time For Kids in the classroom will allow my children to learn about what is happening in the world around them. I have used TFK in my classroom before and it was a wonderful resource. We do not have a social studies curriculum, and I used TFK to supplement.
The news and articles are written so that the children can comprehend.
They are so kid friendly, and the online component is wonderful as well.
TFK is a great way for children to stay in touch and learn about politics, current affairs, inventions, and other things they would never know about.
Thank you so much for considering this project for the 2018-2019 school year.
