My students need a functional refrigerator and ice maker to provide ice for injuries. We rely on the refrigerator and freezer to keep incentives cool for rewards.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are an urban elementary school that services students from various economic backgrounds. Many of our students rely on the school to provide a healthy breakfast and lunch for them. We strive to make school a safe place in our students lives. Many of our students do not have a stable home or family and depend on our stability at school. Our students come to school eager to learn and always put forth their best effort, despite their home life.
My Project
Our building does not have A/C and our students enjoy frozen treats to stay cool. One of our students favorite incentives are popsicles to keep cool. We also store ice cream and other frozen treats to encourage positive behaviors. We would like to have an ice cream sundae party to reward our students that consistently follow our school wide expectations. We utilize the fridge and freezer to store food for our after school events such as literacy night and back to school night. Our students also utilize the ice from the freezer for injuries. Our students deserve the best at school!
