Keeping Clean During Cold and Flu Season

My Students

I teach third grade at a diverse Title I school in southwest Florida. Our students come from numerous cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. My students speak English, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, and Chinese! Through lots of hard work, our school continues to help our students succeed.

Cold and flu season has most definitely arrived!

Although my students have been pretty healthy this year so far, we all came back from winter break with all sorts of germs! I have been sick and so have many of my students.

My Project

When students (or the teacher) come to school sick, germs get passed around. When they stay home, they miss valuable learning time and fall behind.

We need help keeping these nasty germs away!

For this project, I am requesting hand sanitizer (we are running really low!), sanitizing wipes to keep our tables clean (we try to do this after breakfast and at the end of the day), and electronics wipes to periodically clean our classroom computers and laptops. (Those touchscreens, trackpads, keyboards, and mice are a hotbed for germs this time of year! Yuck!)
