Keeping Calm and Cool in Art!

Help me give my students a relaxing and calm art room environment with fluorescent light covers so that students have a place to chill and be creative!

My Project

I see over 550 amazing young artists in my classroom each week! My room has always been a safe space where students come to relax and be creative! With the increased focus on social-emotional learning in schools, a calm classroom environment helps each of my students. When students are more focused, they are more successful in their projects. Painting is a great outlet for stress- so we can combine the classroom mood with proactive projects for the best possible outcomes. The watercolor paper will be used in numerous painting projects, like our upcoming Ming Vases.

My students are always happier and calmer when we have muted lighting.

In addition to some lamps around the room, UV light filters not only diffuse the light, but these covers are fun to look at too! Every student will benefit from a better art room atmosphere as we continue to create all year long!
