Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title 1 school. Most of my students are Bilingual or ESL, with Spanish being their first language, and live in homes with lower incomes. All of my students are from working class families. Many of my students live with a single working parent or a grandparent.

As the Fine Arts teacher, I get to expose my students to many aspects of Music and Art that they might get not experience at home.

My students work very hard in their regular classrooms. Our schools test scores and ratings are improving every year. I am very proud of my students and my school. I want to give them a chance at every opportunity I can!

My Project

There are many art projects we can do with very basic supplies. In my years of teaching, I have discovered that paint is one of the most loved art mediums. With these paint colors and new brushes, my students will be able to explore the painting techniques more thoroughly.

All students love art.

And paper and pencils are an important part of that. When my students learn about curved lines and straight lines and how to draw faces, good paper and pencils are important. Some of these students will go on to take more advanced art classes, even sketching classes, and will already have basic pencil skills.

In my classroom, I try to give my students the basic understanding of art, art techniques, and art history. With these supplies, all of my students will be able to experience new and exciting are projects.
