Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 28 RAMBUNCTIOUS, active, energized students! Every day I need to assess where they are academically and move them to the next level. But to do that I need to make sure they are showing me their OWN work and not what they have copied from a neighbor. Imagine with 30 of us, it's tight!
Our school has 600 students from kinder to eighth grade.
We are a historically under performing school. The poverty is high and the needs are great. These children deserve the best teachers and smaller class sizes. But we can only change resources through DonorsChoose.
As a teacher I see my students as part of my family and I want them to get their needs met. But I need your help. These partitions will help me to accurately assess where the students are and where they need help. The chart paper will allow me to post various anchor charts that my students need for reference. Finally, the fancy border paper will be used for their final drafts in writing!
My Project
The partitions will be used daily for math exit slips, spelling tests, reading assessments and science mini quizzes. It will give the students a private space in which to work. It will provide them with confidence to work to show their own personal progress. The chart paper will allow them to see necessary directions and anchor charts to reinforce student learning.
The donors have always been generous to my students.
I appreciate the generosity. They are thankful even though they have never met you. They know that someone out there cares about them enough to send them gifts and supplies. This project like all my projects is for the smooth running of an inner city classroom.
