My Students

Our class consists of sweet, creative, and active 6 and 7-year-old students who come to school excited about learning. My first graders love to move around and love it when a wide variety of technology is incorporated into their daily instruction.

Each day I strive to make learning rigorous yet captivating in a positive learning environment.

I love the enthusiasm first graders bring to school and hope to create lifelong learners who have only positive memories from their school days.

Hands-on learning is becoming more and more important in the classroom. It’s one thing to be able to read and write about what you are learning. It’s another thing to be able to apply it.

Hurricane Michael has left a lasting impression on our community. My sweet first graders have been through so much over the past 2 years. After finally gaining some positive momentum from our Hurricane Michael recovery, we are now facing a COVID setback.

My Project

Students love positive reinforcement. The materials requested will be used to motivate students for reading and good behavior. With the beginning of the school year here, our prize box is in need of some fresh new motivating prizes. Our plan for the year is to set not only reading goals but behavioral goals. Students will be challenged to read ten books per quarter and rewarded weekly for good behavior. These squishies, fidgets, stickers, disappearing ink pens, and animal erasers will help inspire my students to soar through the school year.
