Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a group of dynamic 2nd graders! They are inquisitive, thoughtful, curious and hard-working. I have the privilege of teaching them many subject areas—math, writing, reading, phonics, science, and social studies! Our school is located in South Williamsburg and serves an wonderfully diverse group of families! We are in need of a few more supplies to keep our classroom running smoothly.
With shrinking school budgets, my students need some extra supplies to make our year ahead a success.
We need toner to keep the classroom printer running smoothly. Also, we'll add a few other flexible seating options to help all learners have what they need to do their best learning!
My Project
For the past 3 years my students and I have been exploring flexible seating with great success! We've gotten rid of many chairs and replaced them with wobble stools and cushions. This year, I'd like to add some softer ball chairs and some stationary stools to help my students have even more options!
Increasing student choice and autonomy makes every classroom run well!
Last year we were also able to purchase a new color printer for the room! It works like a charm and helps print out differentiated work for all of our diverse learners! But, to keep it printing away, we'll need a good supply of toner.
