Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is filled with students who have a variety of different needs. Some students have disabilities, some are learning English, some have emotional needs. Some of my students simply need to be challenged. Despite their challenges, they all come to school very eager to learn and bring a lot to the table.
My students don't necessarily have extra materials or resources at home, so they are very appreciative of the ones we have inside the classroom.
This school is in a low-income area, filled with children with many different needs, but seeing them have the opportunity to have these amazing materials from DonorsChoose is truly a blessing! These materials will really help my students explore.

My Project
My project would be for a document camera and a phone stand to use at home to make it easy to project work onto the screen. So many of my students are visual learners so being able to see their work be presented infant fo them would help enhance our Google Meet sessions. We will use this and the phone stand to not only record videos but also project the work while learning through the computer. I will be presenting work such as anchor charts for finding the main idea, analyzing character traits, identifying story elements, summarizing.
We will also use it to write informational writing pieces, research animals and create graphic organizers.
This will help me model and work with the students for the remainder of the year!
Students will benefit from this by being able to understand explicitly step by step two to complete their virtual lessons. This will be a clear picture that projects onto their screens as well. We will also use this to provide students with extra support when needed with reading. I can see it now, reading with students using picture books and chapter books on our google meet session using the document cameral
