Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
All of my students are just regular kids who want to learn, but many face financial hardships that make obtaining the materials they need very difficult. Troubles at home are many, and being a part of a musical ensemble allows many students to feel a sense of belonging that they so desperately need.
Watching my students unable to participate in class breaks my heart.
These kids want to be there and want to be a part of the group. Sometimes being in musical groups is what makes the difference in whether a kid comes to school or not. Keep them playing and help them feel belonging.
My Project
The supplies I am requesting already have homes for certain students. tese materials in order to be able to play their instruments. If they are unable to play, they are not able to be a part of their music ensemble. Help keep the music alive in these awesome middle schoolers' hearts and souls!
For many of my students, music class is a safe place where they can be a part of a positive group.
My students love being in class, but it breaks my heart to watch them sit back and not be able to contribute to the group due to their families financial situation. Let's help them to keep playing!
