My school is located in a low economic county. Seventy seven percent of students entering school will participate in the free lunch program. These students meet different challenges in every day life.
It is my mission to give all students the advantage of using materials that will advance them to a higher level of learning.
I provide students with many hands on activities, worksheets and individual instruction. At times these materials can be very boring. Students need materials that will peak their interest to continue their advancement.
Students know when they enter class they will be encouraged to push themselves to strive harder. With this encouragement they will accomplish the tasks set before them
My Project
I would like to incorporate Power Pens and activity cards into our class. Power Pens are an interactive game which consists of pens that give immediate feedback to the student. Which enables the student to move on to the next question on the card or redo the question if incorrect. The combination of Power Pens and the Interactive Games will make Math fun.
These materials will enhance the ability of my students to master skills they haven’t at this time.
I believe that all students should have materials available to them to achieve their goals. These materials will enhance the motivation of students to want to master math skills.
This project will make Math seem even more interesting and exciting when the Power Pens light up indicating that the student figured the answer without any help. To see the light in their eyes and the smiles on their faces when they figure the answer by themselves is priceless. So please support this project to keep that light glowing.
