Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are an amazing group of children hungry to learn. They are wonderful, loving children. They do well with structure and organization. Being out of school for so many months has not been easy for them, so they are hungry to learn.
The students have a variety of learning styles, and I have to always differentiate my instruction.
They have many special needs but are eager to succeed. They enter the classroom each day full of energy and excitement for what is in store for them on that day. One hundred percent of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. We are working on improving student outcomes by reaching out through DonorsChoose.org.
My Project
We have many students at my school who don't have hats and gloves to keep them warm. Many students walk to and from school daily. I want to make sure they are comfortable, cozy and warm, and that they never miss school because it's too cold outside.
We also take the kids outside for recess as long as it's not bone chilling freezing.
We want the kids to get fresh air and stay warm at the same time. We also want to make sure the kids stay healthy in this age of covid, so it's very important that they stay safe.
