Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are hardworking, smart and fully capable of great successes. They come in to each school year motivated and ready to take on the year! Our school is a free and reduced lunch school so as teachers we strive to make the school days pleasant and comfortable for our students. Many students seek quiet areas during the school day to become present and mindful and our goal is to provide this space for them! We are looking forward to a great school year!
My Project
My project has items to contribute to a calm environment. We have lights and beanbag chairs for the area, books about mindfulness and self exploration and snacks for the moments where they need a little chocolate to get through! This space will be a comfortable space for students to freely express themselves and relax during moments when they feel they need to be centered. This project is a great way to kick off the school year with new items to entice the 100 new freshman that I will have on my caseload! As always thank you for your generosity to our students!
