My Students
Hello, I am a first year teacher, working in a new Kindergarten classroom, at an at-risk school.
Many of my students are from low income homes and school is a safe place for them to come to and be valued.
In our classroom we are trying to develop a sense of a class family. We work together and build each other up.
I have yet to meet my first group of students ever, but I know with your donations I can make this a meaningful first year for the whole class!
My Project
I chose khaki pants and white shirts for both girls and boys to make sure that every student is in clean clothes, whether they have an accident or come to school in dirty clothes.
Many students are still learning how to regulate themselves when it comes to restroom breaks.
We do not have a bathroom in our classroom so they have to learn to ask to use the bathroom or to try and go when we have restroom breaks.
Additionally, there are some students who come to school in shirts or pants that are dirty. It is nice and refreshing to have clothes already in our room for them to change into without being embarrassed.
