Several of my students are without the internet, and they would love to keep learning and working from home and through the summer. Several families have asked for more work to keep them fresh and decrease the chances of summer slide. Some of them are ESL and need to be able to self check as some parents are also learning English with them.
Several families have asked for more work and enjoy paper-pencil activities because not all of our families have internet access. Some parents are overwhelmed with internet options and prefer these types of learning activities. A couple of families have asked for something to continue through the rest of NTI days and for the summer as they are concerns about the loss of teacher/student time and do not want their child to fall behind over the summer.
Summer Bridge Activities are great because they are clearly laid out, independent activities that also allow for self-checking.
