Keep Students Hydrated to Learn!

My Students

My students come from a small, rural community where sixty-one percent receive free or reduced-price lunch. Over the past five years, the city of Kirksville has seen an influx of migrant workers coming in from the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Many speak French as their first language. As a result, the Kirksville School District has seen a sharp increase in English-Language Learner students. Despite their hardships, my students are growing and learning every day.

My 2nd graders are coming off a hard 18 months.

Their families are struggling and teachers are working hard to get their students back to grade level when it comes to academics.

My class needs water bottles and holders to keep at their desk to stay healthy and hydrated.

My Project

Drinking water is great for the brain! I want to keep my kids hydrated and able to learn throughout the school day. Most of my students either do not have or forget their water bottles at home.

The water bottles I chose for them are durable and dishwasher safe so that I can take them home and wash easily.

I want them to keep these at school so I can make sure they have water everyday. The time marks displayed on the bottle will help keep them on track. The desk holders are good to have space and eliminates spills and leaks.
