Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are passionate, motivated, and enthusiastic individuals. I have had the pleasure of working with students at our school and have witnessed students' passion to reach their goals. I am positive that my students will achieve a great education. Our school is the best. We help each other to reach their dreams. We are a family and we are strong together, both our student and parents. Our students are the future. We care for our students! We want the best education for them. We need all the help we can get this 2017 - 2018 school year. After Hurricane Harvey, our school lost a lot of school supplies. We need to make our students feel safe and ready to learn.
My Project
At the beginning of every school year, we teachers, see what we call summer slide in many students. This means students who were reading at a certain level, decrease their reading level over the summer. This is due to less access to reading materials and reading practice. We want our students to become better readers. They going to need books, and other material to help them. My goal is to give each of my students a take-home book for their independent reading level, to help them keep reading over this summer. The pencils, bookmark, are to make it more fun for them. The paper is to Provide parents with the tools to help their child be a successful reader and Assist with reading, decoding, and comprehension using teacher provided strategies, and the bags are to put everything together for each student to take home. Additionally, the extra books I have picked are for each of my student's interest. This will help to promote reading over this summer. It is important for students to continue learning over the summer. Williams Elementary School community believes that students, parents, teachers, must work together to improve reading success. To Promote responsibility by helping my students be prepared for reading every day. I want to encourage them to read at home for at least 20 minutes a day. Please Help our students to continue reading over this summer. Thank you for your help and understanding.
