This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are always happy to be at school and eager to learn! This is my seventh year teaching Kindergarten at my school. I work at a Title I school in an urban environment. In my school, 100% of our students receive free and reduced-price lunch.
These students are smart students and very capable of succeeding when given the proper tools.
We use a lot of music and technology throughout lessons since my students are growing up around technology. We are constantly moving using music and dance. My goal is to make learning fun for my students.
My Project
Every day we have snack time. Each of my students brings a snack from home. Many of my students bring snacks that need to be refrigerated, however I have no place to put them.
I am asking for a miniature refrigerator to keep the students' snacks fresh from the beginning of the day until the end of the day.
Also, three days of the week, the cafeteria gives us a fresh fruit or vegetable for snack. A lot of the unused snack go to waste because I have no where to put them. With this refrigerator, I will be able to keep all of the uneaten snacks for another day for all of the students who do not bring snacks from home.
