My students need a wide variety of items to keep our class running smoothly. They need Bluetooth speakers, a Mac key card, storage drawers and bins, candy for incentives, a bookshelf, reusable notebooks, laminating pouches, and paper trimmers.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are English Language Learners from a high poverty area. We are a Title I School with approximately 90% of our school population receiving free or reduced-price lunch and some being part of a Backpack Buddy Program that provides them with food for the weekend. Most of my students are the eldest of their family, and they are a resource for their younger siblings when doing homework. They should continue to be a fountain of knowledge for their family and serve as role models for their younger siblings.
They are bright students who are captivated by the capabilities of technology and love hands-on activities.
My students should not be limited in their achievements because of their economic status. They should have access to the tools they need to succeed. I want to instill in them that they are capable of anything if they set their mind to it and work hard to achieve it.
My Project
The Bluetooth speakers will be used to hear educational videos from BrainPOP, flocabulary, STEMscopes, edusmart, etc. The storage drawers will provide a place for students to keep their notebooks, since we use tables for collaborative learning and they don’t have storage space.
Task cards and games get plenty of use so we want to protect them for future use, this is where the laminating pouches and paper trimmers come in.
The candy will be used as incentives, and the bins to store them. The bookshelf will provide us with extra storage for our textbooks and ever-growing classroom library. The step ladder will be used to maximize our wall space, by being able to display anchor charts and educational posters. The Microsoft key will help us to create engaging games, PowerPoints, and card sorts. We'll use the dry erase markers and erasers to work/play on laminated games and activities.
We also need reusable notebooks with pens. These notebooks will allow my students to write about what they’ve learned and we’ll be able to store them in google drive to come back to them. The best part is we will be reusing them and this will help lead our conversation about recycling and preserving our resources. The lighting adapter will allow us to connect our classroom iPad to the projector. The orbit sharpener will allow my students to sharpen their map pencils without clogging the sharpener. The hole-punch and stapler will allow students to staple hole-punch important papers to place in their binders.
