Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are all from low income families that do not have a lot of resources. My school is pretty diverse, serving a variety of ethnicities. There are many students who are English Language Learners.
My students are eager to learn!
They love to do hands on activities. That is when they are most engaged.
I work hard to build their confidence as learners because many of them have a hard time believing in themselves and believing that they can learn and be successful! I not only want them to learn, but to build the social skills and self confidence they need to be successful in school and in life.
My Project
The rainy season has just begun and many of the students at my school do not have umbrellas or even waterproof jackets with hoods to keep them dry. A large percentage of our students walk to school or take public transit and then walk so they are guaranteed to get wet without an umbrella.
Please help provide umbrellas for our students so that they can come to school dry and ready to learn.
If students come to school wet it takes so long for their clothes to dry and no one wants to sit in wet clothes. It only causes discomfort and becomes a distraction for them. I want all of our kids to come to school warm and dry.
