Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is in a low-income community, where many of our families are hardworking parents who do not always have the time or the resources to help their child at home and/or at school. Despite the challenges they face, they are extremely supportive and enthusiastic about their learning and see the importance of education. They only want the best for their children.
The students also bring with them a plethora of knowledge, experiences, and learning styles that we'd like to build upon to help them make connections with their own identity and the community around them.
My students are eager to learn and strive to the best they can day in and day out.
My Project
PE is a time when students get to be active and have fun. Exercising is an outlet for many of my students to release their energy, as well as to increase brain activity.
My students love playing, and PE is the perfect opportunity to promote healthy living, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The cones will be used to mark of boundaries of the game, but also be a part of specific games. The basketball, soccer balls, tetherball, and the playground balls will be used for games. Jump ropes and frisbees are going to used for physical fitness and to have fun. The ball bags will be used to store and organize the equipment.
