My Students
My students are simply amazing! They are bright and curious 4th graders in north Oklahoma City. They are readers, thinkers, scientists, and mathematicians. They are diverse, from varied ethnic and economic backgrounds. They have big dreams and work hard to achieve them, despite our classroom's limited resources. They face numerous challenges and strive daily to overcome them. These young people are achievers and perform better than the district average on standardized tests. My students are optimistic about their future, and I'm honored to teach them.
My Project
Oklahoma teachers will begin a statewide walkout on April 2. This is because our educators and children shouldn't always be in last place. We aren't certain how long the walkout will last, but I want my students to keep learning even though school won't be in session. Rather than copying a bunch of boring black and white worksheets, I would like them to be engaged with a comprehensive, colorful workbook that meets their individual needs. I have selected a variety of grade levels because each of my fourth graders learns at his or her own pace and has individual needs.
