This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach 6th, 7th and 8th-grade students in a middle school located in a very low income and high need area. A majority of the school's students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Many students have not been exposed to many things outside their community having a narrow perspective of the world around them. As educators we need try to include as many opportunities and resources as possible to help them become lifelong learners and work towards being active participants in their community.
Each school year offers my students new opportunities to be clever and innovative.
Experience is a window to expanding student explorations of worldly interactions needed for learning. Our students want to learn and experience new things that will help them grow into future leaders.
Let's Explore Together!
My Project
The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. Students use whiteboards for guided practice and to model their understandings . The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. Interacting with the content on the boards allows for collaboration to be at its highest!
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. This is an interactive way to show computation before turing to a technological tool.
