My students come to me with a love for learning but not always the skills they need to do it. We work together to help them learn the basic social skills they need to work together with their classmates while learning an increasingly rigorous curriculum.
They attend a 100% free and reduced-price lunch school.
Often, they do not go to a preschool that adequately prepares them for modern-day kindergarten. Their bright spirits help them work to overcome these challenges. Together, we make their learning possible!
These chair pockets allow my students to keep their supplies and work organized throughout the day. By giving students a place that is only for them, it teaches important organizational skills, as well as independence.
Students are no longer relying on a teacher to "find" their things but instead, are building organizational skills that will last them for their whole lives.
My students with special needs also appreciate having a predictable place to find their supplies and not having to conquer social situations involving supplies. As a teacher, I also know that chair pockets help keep our textbooks and workbooks in great condition so that student learning is not disrupted by broken materials.
