This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I serve an urban South Austin school where a large portion of our population comes from two low-income assisted housing communities. Many of my students do not have all the standard materials they need to be successful in the classroom. I have found we have quickly run out of classroom staples like glue, crayons, pencils, color pencils, erasers, and paper. My students love coming to school and I would like to continue to create a colorful, engaging, and fun environment for them.

My Project

Help us make the materials the school purchased for us to use last longer. We all know funding is sparse especially at the end of the year! We were graciously gifted 4 iPads for each of our Kindergarten classes to use for the next few years. I would like to make the iPads last as long as possible. An iPad cover and central charging station would be awesome! These iPad covers are perfect for kindergarten as they are just large enough for little hands to use and the stand is very strong and can hold up to 17 kiddos using them everyday.
