This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a third grade, Title I, elementary school in the less desirable part of the neighborhood. What these students are lacking in the pleasurable things of life, they make up for with desire and the will to improve.

Although these students do not experience much of the finer things of life, they want to learn.

With that said, the majority of these students work hard to be a better part of the community. They want to improve their lives and know knowledge is the way.

My Project

We need strong, last long wooden cupboards for our students' supplies. The limited supplies we have need help. As teachers we love our students and want them to learn but how can any students learn in a clutered environment? Our school is wonderful but is very old. We are using used cardboard boxes and they will work for a while but third grade students can be hard on things and we need something strong that will last. These cupboards are just what we have been hoping for. We have limited supplies and know the values of keeping what little we have safe. These storage untils will allow us to do just that, keep our students supplies safe and ready to be used to improve learning. In a Title 1 environment what we have needs to last. Stretching our pennies only goes so far and these four cupboards will help us stretch our students' supplies out longer.
