Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I currently teach a 12:1:2 special education class. My students are in grades kindergarten, first, and second. My students have a lot of different needs academically, behaviorally, and emotionally.
My students try their best given their many difficult situations.
Some of my students’ favorite things to do in the classroom are listening to diverse books be read aloud, using our STEM buckets and movement based brain breaks. The resources I request will make learning a little easier for them and myself.
My Project
The bins and bags I'm requesting will be used to help keep my students school materials organized at home. I often ask them to take out some of their supplies and they have to go searching for them around the house.
The storage bins will help keep everything easily accessible for my students.
The bags will be used to store the legos and erasers I am requesting as well. These items will be used for multiple purposes. The main purpose is to help with adding and subtracting in math. The second purpose of the lego set is to provide a few minutes of building and break time throughout the day.
Finally the coloring book well help facilitate a conversation about racism and how it affects everyone.
