My students need a learning environment that will provide them with various Flexible seating options to allow them a choice of their differing learning styles.
I have 25 fabulous 4th grade students in my classroom. My students have a range of academic abilities. My goal as their teacher is to make sure to meet every students differing needs, so that they may be happy and successful learners in the classroom. My students come in to my classroom every day ready to learn!
My Students are very active and energetic.
This is my second year of teaching and I am always searching for new ways to better engage them within the classroom. I am a believer in using student choice. Flexible seating will really enable my students to move around the room, and help stay engaged.
My Project
We are requesting stackable stools, balance ball seats, bouncy chair bands and rectangular folding tables. Flexible seating is a great way to meet students individual needs in the classroom. It provides the students with a choice that best fits their learning style. My students will be able to stay seated and wiggle as needed. They are a very active class and brilliant class. They love to move around and work in groups.
I want my students to be happy, engaged in their work, and relaxed.
I plan to spend time rotating my students with the different flexible seating options to get an idea of which seating best suits the students. We will set up rules and procedures to properly care for the seating so that it will last for years to come.
