My Students

My students are energetic and creative; they inspire me every day with their humor and curiosity. They come from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, and they've learned to value each other because of those differences. The majority of students at my school qualify for free/reduced lunch costs; many students struggle to manage the responsibilities both of school and home, and staying organized can be a challenge. My goal is to help my students prepare for class and organize their materials so they can focus on learning!

My Project

"For every minute spent organizing, an hour is earned." ~ Benjamin Franklin. I believe being organized is a learned skill, one that saves time and frees us to think creatively and to the enjoy learning experience.

My students write every day in my class - we write reflectively, analytically, and creatively.

We draw, map, & sketch to explore ideas and clarify our thinking. That's a lot of pencil & paper! A durable, electric pencil sharpener and three-hole punch will be used directly by students to foster their organizational skills so they can maximize their time learning. A wireless presenter will allow me to circulate while I teach.
