My Students

Hello everyone. I am teaching nine wonderful learners in my classroom with disabilities. Most of them are in autism spectrum while others are developing their speech and language, and social skills. My students range from grades 1st to 3rd. Our school provides free breakfast and lunch to students to make sure that students are ready for learning.

My students need more activities that promotes social skills in the classroom.

They enjoy doing art, music and reading. They love to read stories, sciences and history. Activities for small group like Math, and writing board activities are our ways of making sure that they improve their social skills, at the same time their academics.

Sometimes frequent breaks are needed for my students. We do calm activities like listening to a relaxing music while working alone, yoga, and any integration of sensory materials in our social skills activities.

My Project

I am teaching students with different disabilities. This project would help them to maintain social and emotional functioning in the classroom. I would like to make a peace corner in the classroom where students can relax, read a book, stay calm throughout the day and practice self-regulation in any given circumstances.

Peace corner could be a great addition in my classroom.

Student can take care of what they feel and help themselves go back to learning. This is a great place for student's break when their feelings are uncontainable that stops them from learning.
