These playful and active 4th graders graders at our Title I school of varied socio-economic and ethnic diversity meet daily on the blacktop for varied PE activities such as running, pacers, work with equipment such as balls and jumpropes, and dance moves to trendy music.. with the beautiful spring weather upon us, we are ready for something new!
Our community was recently affected by the Camp Fire including students who lost everything, have evacuated, housed evacuees in their homes, and suffered other stresses and trauma.
Picture thirty active 9-10 year-olds hooping to their heart's content! Our daily PE activities will be enhanced by colorful and easy to master hula hoops.
As we head into spring, this group of fun-loving kids will delight in having another option to add to their exercise routines.
Add some kid-friendly pop music, and magic will roll out!
One can hula hoop alone or with a few friends. Everyone is successful. Kids use the few hoops we have to hop in and out, swing them around their waists, arms, knees and even jump "rope" with them. This is a fun way to get heartbeats up and faces glowing.
