Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students range from 9th to 12th grade and come from a variety of cultural backgrounds. They are very intelligent and driven to doing the best they can every single day. They enjoy being creative and making things with their hands. Technology also plays a big factor in creating an engaging classroom setting, which they enjoy very much. When students are engaged, they learn better and are always excited to come to class.

Thank you for giving your consideration to helping my students.

My Project

I only have a few books available at school for the students to share when we read. My school district decided to go online this semester. Due to the fact that we cannot be physically at school, there are not enough books for each student to take home. These books will allow my students to keep developing their Spanish reading skills, and develop a love for Hispanic history and culture. Reading this book, students will learn about the Dominican Republic's culture and life during the reign of General Trujillo's dictatorship. I would need this resource before the school year starts.
