I teach in a special education K - 2 resource classroom. All of my students come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

My special education students lost their homes to Hurricane Katrina. As you can see, our classroom still has Hurricane Katrina damage. My students can't check out books from our school library because the library is undergoing construction and the books are currently in boxes. The parents of my students often work late hours and are not able to listen to read to their child at night.

I need 28 books with read along CD's. I also need 4 portable CD players to ensure that my students have the same opportunities to access books as their peers throughout the country.

Your help will ensure that my students have books to read and the opportunity to listen to fluent reading through the use of audio CD's. Every minute of reading counts. Your donation will ensure more opportunities for my students to read.
