My Students
I have a very diverse group of students who have faced many challenges in their short lives. In our area, financial hardship is real.
I am so blessed to teach in a school where everyone works to meet the diverse needs of all of our students.
Our little school is special, but because we are so rural our declining enrollment is having a negative impact on our budget. There is not enough funding to provide the extras that make a classroom both functional and a little extra special. I do what I can personally, but it is never enough.
My Project
I have chosen these classics from the beloved Dr. Seuss so that my students can have the joy of reading these marvelous works. Many of my students have little exposure to books outside of the classroom, so I am trying to fill my classroom with classics-both old and new and good quality books.
Every child needs to experience having Dr Seuss books read to them and to be able to read them ! So many don't get to have that experience any more. I want my students to leave my classroom having been exposed to classic stories along with the new stories. These books will help make that happen.
