Help me give my students basic supplies for the classroom! Being in a Title 1 school, these supplies will really help us in our learning especially the large easel pads! They will be for group projects!
My students are our future leaders! They will one day change the world and that starts in my classroom. They work really hard and love to learn and be successful.
I am honored and privileged to call them "mine" this year and the rest of their lives!
Ninety-five percent of my students come from a home where socioeconomic status is very low. Most of them receive free and reduced-price lunches. When they go home in the evening, books for literacy are usually not at the forefront of their families’ priorities. They want to play and their parents just want to put food on the table. My school really works as a community to service our students and give them every opportunity to succeed!
Research shows that by providing students with essentials for learning they will become better learners. I am requesting a few basic supplies that will really help us with our learning. We encourage our students to be a complete 21st Century learner and in order to do that we need to be collaborators and communicators. The items I am requesting will take us through the school year.
I want to empower students to drive their own learning so collaborative projects are an essential part of my classroom.
The students really enjoy working together and they really learn a great deal by doing so. The paper requested in this project will help us the entire school year to do just this. My students do more research learning and project creating than some. I give them rubrics and a requirement list and they find the information while learning in a fun way. They have the ability to create many different types of projects but this year my students are really enjoying creating posters and I need the paper in this project to make that happen.
Because our district provides technology like computers and Chromebooks we need headphones for quiet research. Since my students can't often afford these I have some kids who still don't have any this year.
